Science fiction is reality in Japan

Cool JAXA space tech, ASIMO the robot, insane bullet train ride, submarine/star trek cruise, giant transformer, and hanging out in an international space station module. Touring Tokyo Bay on awesome submarine cruiser The Japanese know how to make a cruise exciting. This would be the strangest boat I've ever been on. It's like something out of Star Trek. The bar Inside the boat is very light and spacious. A very pleasant way to see the sights. I was surprised by the absence of private water sport activity in such a rich city. Maybe it's not allowed? Golden Godzilla dropping Bullet Train How sick are bullet trains?? A sort of blend between airline and rail, bullet trains are insanely fast! They cruise at 320km/h and some can reach over 600km/h. At the station they slow down but still fly past at wild speeds. Heading into the country via bullet train - hell yes!!! Just like being in a jet. Bullet Train Sushi - Yum! Spa...

This machine rocks! When I first saw a Hobie Island I was seriously impressed how versatile and clever the concept is. Even 007 would love it! This is a cool boat that does everything and does it well. My friend Mark Sales owns one and uses it as a family boat. He raved about how good the Hobie is. 7 possible configurations: Touring paddle kayak A pedal kayak An outrigger A trimaran A fully rigged fast sail boat A sailboat with extra deck space for passengers A motorboat The Hobie can be used in small creeks, rivers, lakes and go out to sea in strong winds. It's surprisingly fast and I was able to keep pace with full rigged yachts when I went out to sea. It's set up allows me to sail it without extra crew, which is unusual for a sailing boat. It can be used for working out, touring, fishing, diving and camping trips. The Hobie is light enough that I can pull it over sandbars if it runs aground. It also folds down into a small package I can sto...

Robot attacking school kids, Mars Society Australia

Image
Who would let me command their hi tech robot? People who don't know me very well! Haha Alex Foreman, member of Mars Society Australia The Mars Society was founded by one of my heroes, grumpy American genius Rocket Engineer Robert Zubrin. He really made the case for why humankind must expand into space. I've been a member and helped for at least 8 years. Robert Zubrin presenting his awesome  Mars Direct mission plan Australia is a great place to do Mars research, it even looks like Mars! I've had a lot of fun and learned a lot in this very interesting group. Today I got to play pranks with a robot built by very smart kids. FIRST Robotic's Competition student made Robot, being demonstrated at the Mars Society A group of highly talented students from Pembroke School made a presentation to us at the Mars Society . They certainly impressed, detailing their first robot built in just 6 days for practice! Team Koalafied #6996 pose in front of their awe...
